No need for drama
Sure, starvation must have taken some good humans. But I think the kind of thing SL is talking about is more like this:

[link|http://www-gap.dcs.st-and.ac.uk/~history/Mathematicians/Kepler.html|http://www-gap.dcs.s...cians/Kepler.html]
Both were from undistinguished backgrounds.
I am not as pessimistic. It often happens that a key idea will emerge in several places at the same time. It may be mystical, but the way the world reveals itself to us sort of guarantees that the key ideas will land on someone when the time comes.

Why not? "It's just some dark-skinned furriner", or what...?
Ross demonstrates a remarkable ability to ignore everything that doesn't fit his preconceptions: Sure, starvation must have taken some good humans. Re: Huh?!? Where you malnourished as a child, or what...?
For fuck's sake you sack of bile, are you trying to make some kind of extra tragedy out of starvation of ANYONE, child or adult, that wasn't there already?
This is the kind of stupid whining that makes moderate people think all "liberals" are ninnies. Hey, if your damn nutbag people hadn't started two Earth-shattering wars in the last century and fomented destruction and revolution everywhere, we wouldn't have quite so fucked up a world with so much horror and pain poured into it. And before you say anything about MY people - I have six million words for you.
