New Storing objects in a database

While investigating Smalltalk as a possible language binding for Postgresql, I came across this, which looks interesting:

New They always miss the best mappers
Which are EOF (part of webobjects) and GLORP (see it at [link|http://www.glorp.org|http://www.glorp.org] ) which can now read EOF model files (thanks to yours truly).

JavaBlend, BTW, was stillborn and a joke - the NIH pinheads at Sun could never figure out how to make it work.

New "they" being ootips.org?
I have the postgresql 7.4.1 code and Squeak. Check back in a week :)

So I'll look closely at this glorp for motivation at least.

New They being every mainstream OO writer
EOF and WebObjects are the best kept secret in the programming world.
Cayenne is a pretty decent open source clone of EOF - but Hibernate gets all the press. It seems that, with software, worse is always better.
