We have this idiotic little app that uses an MS Access 2000 mdb to attach to a 400 table. The RPG goobers did something to the table and now when you try to attach the table to the MS Access mdb, we get data type interpretation errors (i.e. some of the columns of type DECIMAL(3, 0), DECIMAL(5, 0) are interpretted by MS Access to be of type Text(255) ). This is not true of all DECIMAL(n, 0) data types - just some and only with IBM's latest ODBC driver. The driver from before correctly attaches all the decimal columns, but attaches a DATE type column as Binary.
Anybody got any ideas? I've tried IBM's nightmare of a site w/out luck. I've tried the usual (downgrade ODBC driver, upgrade ODBC driver, re-apply MS sp's, etc.).
The weird thing is that if I leave the old attachment, it works - but cannot utilize the new indexes on the table.
Any help appreciated.
(BTW, No, it was not me who picked Access to do this with).
