New Cheap/free HTML editors for users?
I just spent about 45 minutes trimming a MS Word generated HTML file from 1.6M to 200K (which is what the file was originally when I created it).

I need.... *really* need... something to give the less technical people here to edit these web pages so I don't have to do this again.

Suggestions?
Regards,

New Ultraedit?
This at least does syntax highlighting - do you mean WYSIWYG HTML editors that allow drag and drop fields?

(Is there anything quite as stupid as Word's HTML?)

New Needs to be WYSIWYG
We already have Emacs here, if all I needed was syntax highlighting. :-)

New First example that comes to mind is Mozilla
File-Edit and you start editing the current page. Also teaches them to use an alternative web browser and email client, kill three birds with one stone. :)

Some others I found:

Take your pick, I reconmend Mozilla because obviously you have experience with it.

New Use it in good health
maybe it will help them move away from MS products.

New Dunno about the cost part...
...But when I was on Winders, I was known to use HomeSite. This was originally by Allaire (yes, the Cold Fusion folks), but I think they were taken over by Macromedia for better DreamWeaver integration. Around 1998 or so. Either way, it was one of the best HTML editors I'd found, and the WYSIWYG part actually produced readable HTML.

New HotDog, perhaps?
I recently recommended the "Junior" version in [link|/forums/render/content/show?contentid=136322|Post #136322], when "Critter" was asking about something for his kid... It's not free (in either sense of the word), but the "PageWiz" (or something similar) version was rather cheap -- and I *think* I remember seeing something about multiple or site licenses being cheaper still. Might be worth looking into.
