Sounds like it was a success.

Disability has a person wait six months before they get paid anyway. When I applied for it, we had to live off of life savings for six months and what my wife earned before I started getting disability checks.

You rather wanted to work instead of collecting disability anyway, so now is your chance. Good luck finding a job, I wish you well.

New SSI is immediate
You can draw money while waiting for a final determination if you are actually disabled. (SSI vs. SSDI).

For some reason I did not get that. I only got the Disability part.
