My dad called - mom's 98 system started acting funky. It downloads her email, but the messages don't ever show up once the download is completed. My dad also noticed that the inbox encoding is set to Arabic and it won't let him change it. The dialog box never goes away when he clicks OK after changing to English(Western).

He's uninstalled, defragged/scandisked and reinstalled to new directory and is still having problems. Netscape 4.7 is still on her system and downloads email just fine, but they'd like to get 6.1 fixed. He did mention that the reinstall still had the address book and saved mail, so uninstall/reinstall to new directory still left something behind. As such, I suspect either a registry problem or a "Netscape preferences file"(the text file w/settings, forget the name) problem.

Any ideas?
