Most neoconservative defence intellectuals have their roots on the left, not the right. What I find nominally intriguing re this article (and any other ref to Strauss) is the intro of the ideas exo- meso- eso-teric "circles". As these ~ describe almost any org, whether cockamamie with fur epaulets or.. more serious: there really is no (can be no!) means for evaluating WTF "Strauss" might have been, what he meant.. and the means he chose to express perhaps less.. than he might have realized, about human "decisionmaking" and fantasies commonly held about 'logic' cha cha cha.

Unfortunately (too) - in any intense org, the tendency is for acolytes and to an extent -all- to become formatory; make-up simplistic slogans - forget all one learned about the need for a [referent] for words in languages. Circle jerk. Thus - whatever might have been gleaned .. eventually becomes merely some Power-seeking egotists' group with a secret handshake. But was there any There, there - initially? (It always does get messy in the Absolute Morality ward; death by self-congratulation over being Chosen, and all.)


Oh Well; certainly can see the Roveowitz Axis going for the Armani over the fur-trim - need only look into the dead eyes whenever these droids dissemble before 'interviewers'. (This eval is of course not linkable for two important reasons):
