my interpretation of [link|http://api.openoffice.org/commmon/ref/com/sun/star/text/WritingMode.html|this document] is that OOo 1.1 does support right to left languages. Unfortunately, the OOo version (1.0.3) that runs on Mac OS X is an X11 version that doesn't have it. My guess is that a native Mac OS X version of OOo is a year to year and a half away.
