we did NOT "have to watch what they [we] say, watch what they [we] do." And I'm not afraid nor ashamed to admit I miss it.

The "Zero tolerance" by TSA/DHS seems to apply to reason as well as speech.

Or, is it that French airline captains are truly considered a threat?

New That state of affairs hasn't existed for a long long time...
...in airport security.

As far back as I can remember in my travels (mid 70s when I started frequent international travel) the "don't say bomb, joke about bomb" etc...part of security has been in existance.

And with a real reminder of that policy so fresh in the minds of AF pilots...this idiots behavior is pretty much indefensable.
