WindowMaker dock app. [link|http://www.dockapps.org/file.php/id/15|wmSpaceWeather] shows the current electron and proton flux levels, as well as a 24 hour history (3 hour brackets) of Kp index levels. Following a decline over the past 18 hours, Kp has just spiked again.

Went aura hunting last night. My spot is summit of Veeder Road (of high-speed downhill biking fame). Got to the top, noted a red glow on the horizon....

Not aura. Wildfire. No news yet, but the hillside east of St. Helena was up in smoke, south of Howell Mt. Road. Lots of houses in that area, damage looks bad. Fire was mostly out by 10 pm or so.
