New dunno if I like the edit function
is there a timer so editing a post expires after a short period of time? I like the laid is played rule myself.

But you can go back and get the entire change history, so once it's laid, it *is* played. :-)

and go into an edit screen I dont see any edit history function. Where is it?

New You can't, now.
It keeps track of all the changes that were made, and you can list them by using the "Edit history" link.
