The one-hour demonstration was organized by a chapter of the Communications Workers of America (CWA) union, based in San Jose. Picketers held signs that read: "Stop Off Shoring!" and elicited honks of support from drivers passing by on Bayshore Highway. "It's time for us to come together in solidarity because jobs are leaving California and the United States like never before, and it's because of outsourcing," Cary Snyder, an unemployed hardware and systems engineer, said in a speech to the crowd.
