New Does SharkTank reveal a GPL violation?
Read [link|http://www.computerworld.com/departments/opinions/sharktank/0,4885,84803,00.html|this]:
And now we have a 'Company Support Tool' that's nothing more than a recompiled VNC with the company logo.

Implicitly condoning stupidity since 2001.
New Yes, if...

...they're not distributing it under the GPL. Which would involve offering their clients source or offering source to any third party at a charge no greater than the cost of offering this source.

\r\n\r\n

Internal use of modified GPL code is fine. Distribution to clients, at a fee, triggers source disclosure.

\r\n\r\n

A secondary question is what heed is being given to security -- VNC traffic by default is not encrypted in transit unless tunneled through another protocol.

         Yes, if... - (kmself)

It's no good shouting out all of these random occurrences where you happen to see the face of the Virgin LRPD in a pancake in Guadalajara.
