I'm not saying that the two are comparable in talent (they're not) but both had an impact in their specific fields.

New Heard on NPR this morning
Cash was talking about his recent remake of Trent Reznor's "Hurt". He said (best I can remember):
That's a great song. It sounds like something I could have written if I could write that good in the 60's.
This from a guy in the Country Music Hall of Fame, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame. Huge compliment.

Asked how he was able to find songs from so many genres that fit his style, he said, "An open mind helps."

New Been recently listening to:
His remake of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus". His version sounds very similar to the DM acoustic version. A friend of mine just mentioned his remake of "Hurt" as well.
