Sony announces replacement for PCG-U3

Magnificent machine, smaller than the U1 & U3 but with a larger screen (7.1") but at $US 2000 it is in the too expensive bracket. IT sports a 600 Mhz Celeron vs the U3's 933Mhz Carusoe chip. Seems the celeron is faster.

They have also fixed the mouse (a very frustrating little mistake on the U1 & U3)

Also, When the screen can fold back over the unit (like the new Zaurus) and you it has a touch screen, plus Sony add the new 1GB media-stick support (repl CD), then it will be a true 'killer' machine (as it is almost there now).

My theory:

Anyone who might have the time to exploit its capabilities - can't afford it. Anyone whose time is paid at a rate so as to afford it: won't have the (competing) time to exploit it.

{sigh} .. kinda like, Youth is wasted on the Young. We should start out Smart(er) and with all the toys.. then learn how to discard them (as we gradually learn Why)
