Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Whats the web speed like ? - r u on gprs ?

Took a peek at one of them on the web - seems quite neat by way of GUI.

My experience with trying to do web stuff using a PDA & (even with a gprs SIM) was that the web speed was so poor that once the novelty factor wore off I stopped doing it.

Found myself feeling anti SIM web access but always enjoyed using Wi-Fi in local coffee shops (when I was back in HK).

The issue was not so much the device (although browsing web pages on a current model PDA wears visually thin very quickly, it *is* better than nothing (just).

Will be interested to hear how usage goes as time passes.

Cheers

Yes, I'm on GPRS. Web speed is adequate but it's hard to gauge because I've become very accustomed to high speed connections (the slowest thing I deal with is 1MBit).

Seems no more painful than good ol' dialup.

Orange in the UK have clearly worked hard on their GPRS network. When I first dipped a toe in this water last year, it was awful; connections would silently drop, you couldn't get reconnected without powercycling the phone, the speed was dismal, etc. It Just Works now.

New Browsing the web on a phone is idiotic.
Using the web on a phone is brilliant. As in, web services accessed by software running on the phone. Or PDA, or whatever.

Clearly you have a security problem - and it's got nothing to do with computers.
