Customers will be able to store movies for up to 30 days. Over that span, they can watch a movie as many times as they wish in a 24-hour period.
I'm not asking about the implications. I'm just asking what sense it makes to say "in a 24-hour period" there. It sounds like they're trying to say something more than just "as many times as you wish" but I can't think if what it might be.

I think press-release-eze is getting to be as bad as legal-eze. People who read it and write it all day forget what plain language sounds like, and add words that don't mean anything just for the hell of it.



Unless ... I just realized this. You can store it for up to 30 days, but once you play it for the first time it only stays active for 24 hours. That seems to be the only literal way to parse that sentence. If that's what they're saying, why would I rather do this than go rent the DVD?

Sounds to me like you can order the flic and hang on to it for up to a month. Once you watch it, the timer starts ticking and 24 hours later it's a batch of scrambled bits.
