MS doesn't seem to understand what security is (I know this is not news around here)
but
they keep adding new and more 'powerful' security to their products
but
their concept seems to be to tie the hands of admins instead of keeping systems safe from hackers, worms, etc.
thus
I added new XP machines to a W2K network but I didn't revise the group policies, rights
so
I had to give the user permission to print (shouldn't that be a default)
later on another W2K net
someone installed Office XP before joining the machine to the domain
result
domain user had endless issues retrieving files from network locations even though mapped to them (part of the Office install is a security install and it didn't include domain info)
maybe they mean 'job security' (at least for guys like me)
