Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Okay, a IMO workable solution
(the body of) Each post exists within a table cell (td). Would it be possible to add a span element just inside that, and set the class parameter of that span element to "PostByusername"? Then make whoever wants a filter do the CSS themselves... for example, the final source would read:

<td class='even'><span class='PostBytseliot'>
Body of message...
</span></td>

This way, you wouldn't have to save state among all possible combinations. Nobody would; I'd just have to manage my own on my end.

Many fears are born of stupidity and ignorance -
Which you should be feeding with rumour and generalisation.

New Good idea!
This could then be used by others to basically create mimic killfiles. I can create my own stylesheet that contains a rule for class "PostBytseliot" and set it to white on white. Voila, I no longer have to read your posts. ;-)

New If you're using Win2k and Mozilla...
and logged in as Administrator, then the userContent.css file discussed on the [link|http://twiki.iwethey.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/IwtKillfiles|TWiki] goes in:

x:\\Documents and Settings\\Administrator\\Application Data\\Mozilla\\Profiles\\default\\xxxxxxxx.slt\\chrome

directory.

It took me a while to get the trick working because I was adding the .css file to the ..\\defaults\\profile\\US\\chrome directory where Mozilla was installed. It no workie there.

HTH someone.

Cheers,
Scott.
(Who is too chicken to register on the TWiki yet...)
New Re: If you're using Win2k and Mozilla...
I don't understand the need for "killfiles" (what a bloodthirsty term) in such an intimate context as this one.

New Intimate perhaps, but completely open anyway
Community is almost by definition both who's in and who's out. Human nature.

New Additionally how about:
<span class="zUName-content"> == Typed content and subject
<span class="zUName-signature"> == Signature
<span class="zUname-row"> == for the WHOLE <tr> of the content

Dunno if it is possible. But it'd be nice.

Alternately maybe:
<tr class="zUName-row"> == for the WHOLE <tr> of content

New Or how 'bout this
Wrap each page in a div with the forum identifier as the ID. That way you could do:

.politics > .dkime-content, .politics > .dkime-signature {\n   display   : none;\n}

That way I could decide I don't want to see dkime's posts in the politics forum, but I can elsewhere.

New +15 : Compelling. I like it.
New Yeah... that too!
Perfect...
<div class=politics>
<span class=gfolkert-content>
<span class=gfolkert-signature>

One of these
<span class=gfolkert-row> == <tr class=gfolkert-row>

Dang... that'd be Fantastico!

New Wouldn't that be confusing for you? (It would for me)
Assuming you want the whole tr so you can style it out of existence. Every once in a while, the thread nesting would get wacky--it'd be harder to track nesting depth. Not to mention replies to a non-existent post would start to look silly.

I'm gonna go build my own theme park! With Blackjack! And hookers! In fact, forget the park!
New Actually...
No. It wouldn't be bad... I have already mocked it up... and it doesn't look bad at all. I chose and OLD thread with tons of right shift were someone was babbling on...

It was entirely readable and "pleasant"
