Welcome to IWETHEY!

New took me a while
If you see one framed, try looking at your reflection in the glass - that's how I finally saw one. I can see them much easier now.

New Still nothing
either my brain or my eyes cannot see that picture.

New You have to trick your brain.
Your brain has hard wiring to take 2D images from each eye and construct a 3D representation in your head. The SIRDS images take advantage of the way peoples brains are wired to make a 3D image appear.

Don't look at the sharp edges of the colors. You have to make the colors out of focus to see the 3D image. When it's out of focus, your brain will try to make sense of it and the 3D image will appear.

Try crossing your eyes a little and moving your head toward and away from the screen, and then back and forth gently. It's best for me when I'm about a foot away from the screen. It seems to be about 4" beyond the glass.

Once it happens it'll be hard not to see it. :-)

Cheers,
Scott.
New All I get is a headache for my efforts
my brain must not be wired that way, I cannot see the 3D Images.

3D Movie technology works, I can see that, just not this Magic Eye stuff.

New A headache means you're trying too hard.
Especially if can't see the picture.

If it helps to know, the way they work is because each eye must focus on the page (or screen) but your two eyes are not focussed on the same spot! For a parrallel-viewing image like the one posted, find a repeating pattern element, move fairly close and let your focus slowly relax (it will probably help to make the picture bigger). You want the two copies of the pattern element to move towards each other as you relax. Once they meet, hold your eyes' divergence there and try to make your brain believe your eyes are seeing the same element - tilt your head to make them match, untense your head and eye muscles, etc. When they lock, it should come into focus and the pattern will look like it's floating inside the page or screen.

The very first time you manage it, you will find great difficult in looking around the rest of the picture whilst keeping your eyes' convergence right. Try not to blink - you will probably loose it if you do! It will gradually get easier, but it takes some time. The picture posted is not a difficult one, fortunately. Use a pattern near the top of the image to match up as that is background and will make the rest of the image easier to see.

Wade.

Is it enough to love
Is it enough to breathe
Somebody rip my heart out
And leave me here to bleed

Is it enough to die
Somebody save my life
I'd rather be Anything but Ordinary
Please

New just remembered
I've got one in a book that turns black and white when you focus the right way. It helps by reinforcing the correct way of focusing on the image.

Another thing are [link|http://www.magiceye.com/advert4.htm|floaters]. If you look at the following image the right way, you'll see 7 apes - 5 apes in the middle will be 3D. These are easier to see than the hidden images, and once you get used to seeing these you'll be that much closer to seeing the hidden images.
