You might need some time to get used to its fire-engine-red start button.

New I Like.
As ignition switches are called on to operate increasing masses of gizmos - AND spring-load to do the start thing: I'd love to have that moved to a simple and reliable button!

Hmmm... I Can Do That!

(But what I really need is an LED chain for ALL the cockamamie stuff from temp sensors to fuel pumps, which can inhibit the starter-ON logic! I've got the Helms orig. manual set for my Acura.. talk about flow-charts Just to START the sucker. :(

Hey the old folks got it right: that mechanical pedal on the upper-L floorboard: moved the hi-current contacts directly! Gosh - what a smashing idea!

New You can install the S2000 start button
[link|http://www.oichan.org/mods/starter/starter2.htm|this site] has installation instructions for a Volkswagen Corrado VR6. Can be ordered from [link|http://www.handa-accessories.com/s2000int.html|here] for $32.

New Ah yes.. reminder.
One reason those START switches are break-before-make is .. turning off all the other toys. Love the guy's English - in many ways more accurate and expressive than lots of 'good' sentences.

Given wiring looms and paucity of space for *neat* relay installation, etc. - I think I have to pass on this project until I actually install the cute digital readout of oil or water temp, pressure and voltage + all the sensors. I built this and tested (from magazine kit of parts + board in a ~ 2x3 display) but putting a tee on a critical oil line, or into a large coolant hose (given the mass/size of the rather antiquated Detroit-style sensors) has deterred me from completing the project. This even though I'd really like to *see* what my oil px is, glance at the charging system, etc. On Acura, the alternator is weird and is run from its own CPU and 'management system'! No Pep Boys stuff, on the road. I was going to use it on the Saab.

{sigh} law of unintended consequences again.

Ashton, chicken.
