New Yes - for 19 years
I've seen that ad, and a few others like it, for companies in the Denver area. The "gotcha" for me is that they want Base24, an EFT system by a company called ACI out of Omaha, Nebraska. It runs on the Tandem platform, but I've never worked anywhere that used it.

ACI only trains people if their company has purchased their software. Recently I've learned that they've stopped doing even that. I called them to inquire about taking their educational courses so that I can become a contractor with knowledge of their product - no go. Wouldn't even give me the time of day.

I have been submitted to Visa and Fedex in the Denver area weeks ago. As of today, neither recruiter has heard back from either shop.

New Re: Yes - for 19 years
I seem to remember AT&T in St. Louis has a large Tandem installation for their Worldcom installation. Were they "Himalayas"? Do I have that wrong?

-drl
New Nope; you've got that right
though by now they've upgraded to the newer "Sierra" class (also called the "S series") line that has been out for 2 - 3 years now. Performance runs around 33 to 50% better than the Himalaya line.

A recruiter presented my resume to SBC in St. Louis 2 months ago, but he has yet to hear back from them.
