I figured my credit rating would get stronger after being a homeowner, but the company handling all of Apple's online loans is only willing to loan me $1800 towards a purchase... not quite the amount I was looking for. :) Oh well, guess I'll have to get it the old fashioned way... by exercising fiscal responsibility (ugh) and saving my money (shriek). :D Someday, a powerbook will be mine, yes it will... of course, by then, Apple will have put out something cooler. Basically an interest free one-year loan with payroll deductions to pay it back. Gotta get the painting and carpet cleaning done first :) ----- Steve

Post #100,575 by orion 5/6/03 2:13:45 PM Reply	How much for the Powerbook? Try to save up for a down payment and use the credit for the rest. That is what I would do if I wanted a Powerbook and didn't have enough credit to buy one. If it cost $3000, I'd save up $1200 and put the $1800 on the credit card and then pay it off. Just take the payments you would have paid the credit card and put them into your savings account. By the time you have enough for a down payment, Apple should have a new Powerbook out on the market with better features and longer battery life. :) *"If you're going to cheat, cheat fair.
